Scientific Journals

IEEE Geoscience and remote sensing letters

  • Aims and scope: This publication emphasizes rapid turn-around for shorter, high-impact papers on the theory, concepts, and techniques of science and engineering as they apply to the sensing of the earth, oceans, atmosphere, and space; and the processing, interpretation, and dissemination of this information. Special efforts will be made to accommodate papers containing "extended objects" such asimage animations.
  • ISSN: 1545-598X.

IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and remote sensing

  • Aims and scope: This publication focuses on the theory, concepts, and techniques of science and engineering as applied to sensing the earth, oceans, atmosphere, and space; and the processing, interpretation, and dissemination of this information. This journal publishes technical papers disclosing new and significant research.
  • ISSN: 0196-2892.

IEEE Transactions on image processing

  • Aims and scope: Signal-processing aspects of image processing, imaging systems, and image scanning, display, and printing. Includes theory, algorithms, and architectures for image coding, filtering, enhancement, restoration, segmentation, and motion estimation; image formation in tomography, radar, sonar, geophysics, astronomy, microscopy, and crystallography; image scanning, digital half-toning and display, andcolor reproduction.
  • ISSN: 1057-7149.

Remote sensing of environment

  • Aims and scope: Remote Sensing of Environment serves the remote sensing community with the publication of results on theory, science, applications and technology of remote sensing of Earth resources and environment. Thoroughly interdisciplinary, this journal publishes on terrestrial, oceanic, and atmospheric sensing. The emphasis of the journal is on biophysical and quantitative approaches to remote sensing at local to global scales. Areas of interest include, but are not necessarily restricted to:
    • agriculture, forestry and range
    • biophysical-spectral models
    • ecology
    • earth and environmental science
    • geography and land information
    • geology and geoscience
    • hydrology and water resources
    • image processing and analysis
    • atmospheric science and meteorology
    • oceanography
    • sensor systems and spectral-radiometric measurements
  • ISSN: 0034-4257.

Computers and geosciences

  • Aims and scope: Computers & Geosciences is a journal devoted to all aspects of computing in the geosciences. Computers & Geosciences brings to its readers research on novel computer methods in the geosciences, such as spatial analysis, geomathematics, modelling, simulation, statistical and artificial intelligence methods, e-geoscience, geoinformatics, geomatics, geocomputation, image analysis, remote sensing, and geographical information science. The term Geoscience is used in a broad sense to refer to the physical Earth sciences, including geology, geophysics, geochemistry, oceanography, environmental science, atmosphere and planetary science, hydrology, and physical geography. The journal accepts four types of articles: research (for novel computer methods), application (for significant applications of computer methods), reviews (for critical reviews of state-of-the-art in geoscience computing,) short notes (brief descriptions of an application or a timely research development), book and software reviews and letters (for communication). Source code and test datasets associated with published papers can be made available for public distribution from the Editor's page.
  • ISSN: 0098-3004.

Signal processing

  • Aims and scope: Signal Processing incorporates all aspects of the theory and practice of signal processing (analogue and digital). It features original research work, tutorial and review articles, and accounts of practical developments. It is intended for a rapid dissemination of knowledge and experience to engineers and scientists working in the research, development or practical application of signal processing. Subject areas covered by the journal include: Signal Theory; Stochastic Processes; Detection and Estimation; Spectral Analysis; Filtering; Signal Processing Systems; Software Developments; Image Processing; Pattern Recognition; Optical Signal Processing; Digital Signal Processing; Multi-dimensional Signal Processing; Communication Signal Processing; Biomedical Signal Processing; Geophysical and Astrophysical Signal Processing; Earth Resources Signal Processing; Acoustic and Vibration Signal Processing; Data Processing; Remote Sensing; Signal Processing Technology; Speech Processing; Radar Signal Processing; Sonar Signal Processing; Industrial Applications; New Applications.
  • ISSN: 0165-1684.
