The Research Group of the Basque University System called Nationalization, State and Political Violence. Social dimension, discourses and practices (19th-21st centuries), has currently three main research axes:

• The construction of territorial discourses and collective identities, with special attention on the contemporary Basque Country. Inside this ax, the group analyzes processes of national construction and generation of identities, especially those related with territorial factors, through the study of the local spheres and from a socio-cultural perspective.

• Historical memory, violence and victims, focusing the research on Francoism and terrorism.

• The incidence of the social factor in the change processes of the contemporary history.
