Recent Progress for Topology, Computer Science, Fuzzy Mathematics and Economics

General Topology has become one of the fundamental parts of mathematics. Nowadays, as a consequence of an intensive research activity, this mathematical branch has been shown to be very useful for modeling several problems which arise in some branches of applied sciences as Economics, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. Due to this increasing interaction between applied and topological problems, we have promoted the creation of an annual or biannual conference to encourage the collaboration between different national and international research groups in the area of General Topology and its Applications. The first edition of this event was named WiAT'10 and it was organized by the Universitat de les Illes Balears in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) in 11-12 June 2009, the second edition in Universitat Politècnica de València (Campus de Gandia) in 16-18 June 2010 and the third edition in Universitat Jaume I (Castelló) in 20-22 June 2012 .

This fourth edition, which will be held in Bilbao (Spain), June 12-14, 2013, will join several international experts in General Topology and its Applications. In particular, some researchers of reputed prestige will attend to WiAT, and they will give lectures about the connections between General and Pointfree Topology, Computer Science, Fuzzy Mathematics and Economics. This is the reason to repeat the subtitle of the previous editions.

This activity is one of the Interdisciplinary Symposium sponsored by the Spanish Network Topology (RET) with an aid from the Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad of Spain (MTM2011-13556-E).

The refereed proceedings of the conference will be published in a book with ISBN under the name: "Recent Progress for Topology, Computer Science, Fuzzy Mathematics and Economics. Proceedings of WiAT'13".

We hope that the participants establish fruitful scientific relations during the Conference, while they also enjoy the beauty, the culture and the hospitality of the Basque Country.
