Focus and Scope

The international e-Journal of Criminal Sciences is directed toward individuals in a wide range of disciplines who have an interest in the study of crime. The journal publishes internationally contribute empirical studies, reviews of research, and a book review section.

Contributions on theoretical, methodological, and practical aspects of delinquency, marginality and social relationships are included, along with innovative and/or interdisciplinary approaches with a criminological emphasis.

This is a multilingual journal: manucripts in English, French, Basque and Spanish are welcomed.

Research reports

The International E-journal of Criminal Sciences also publishes original research reports, not previously published elsewhere. Proposals will be reviewed by the editorial team of the journal and authors will receive a decision with explanation from the Editor.

Peer Review Process

Articles submitted directly to International e-Journal of Criminal Sciences (Ie-JCS) will be fully peer reviewed by at least two appropriately qualified experts in the field selected by the Editor-in-Chief. The Editor-in-Chief or a designated member of the Editorial Board will then decide whether to accept, reject or request revisions based on the reviews and comments received.

All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Our peer review process is also confidential and identities of reviewers cannot be revealed.

Manuscripts with contents outside the scope will not be considered for review. Simultaneous submissions of the same manuscript to different journals will not be tolerated.

 

Publication Frequency

The International E-journal of Criminal Sciences publishes one issue every year.

New contributions are added to the current issue as soon as the final approved version is received.

 

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
