Presentación - Lingüística y filología vascas

Image

This program aims to continue the great research enterprise initiated by Koldo Mitxelena in the fields of Basque linguistics and philology.

The program, based on the different groups and projects run by the department, promotes high-quality original research in fields which are vital for the Basque society: the origin and history of Basque, its structure and typology, the grammatical features of all areas, the nature and diversity of its dialects, the socialization of the standard variety, scientific developments regarding acquisition, didactics and socialization of the standard language in a multilingual country with its own minority language, and the spreading and knowledge of its literature and culture. Moreover, departing from the study of Basque, we would like to strongly contribute to general linguistics and philology, as well as to applied linguistics and literary theory.
