The Doctoral programme in Applied Chemistry and Polymeric Materials has been put forward by the Departments of Applied Chemistry and Science and Technology of Polymers at the San Sebastián Faculty of Chemistry. It is a consolidated programme with teaching staff from the two departments involved and from prestigious external institutions.

The focus and contents of the programme are interdisciplinary and include all areas of chemistry. They cover aspects related to life sciences and to polymers, materials that are highly relevant scientifically and technically-speaking, but which are practically ignored in doctoral programmes in Spain.

The programme has collaboration agreements in place with technology centres and institutes such as POLYMAT: Institute for Polymer Science and Technology, Inasmet-Tecnalia, and CIDETEC. The programme also envisages international collaborations with research institutes and university departments to boost the opportunities of preparing international doctoral theses.
