Chapter X. Theses conducted in collaboration with external organisations

Article 40. Theses conducted in collaboration with external organisations.

The phrase ‘Tesis en colaboración con entidades externas’ [Thesis conducted in collaboration with external organisations] may be included on the obverse of the degree certificate, provided that the following conditions are met:

1. Collaboration between the UPV/EHU and the external organisation may consist of thesis supervision or co-supervision, funding or any other type of collaboration whose purpose is the performance of the study activities listed in the student’s customised document of activities.
2. An agreement must be signed by the university and the external organisation, setting out the purpose of the collaboration and the conditions under which it is to be conducted, in accordance with the standard models enclosed as appendices to these regulations. The collaboration agreement must be entered in the corresponding IT application before the end of the first academic year of the collaboration.
3. The collaboration between the UPV/EHU and the external organisation must continue for at least two academic years.
