This book contains the proceedings of the VII International Conference on Law, Philosophy, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Education and Mining in a Global World. "The University of the Future", held at the University of Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) from 15 to 18 November 2022, under the title "GLOBALISATION UNDER EXAMINATION: A DIALOGUE WITH LATIN AMERICA" directed by Juana Goizueta Vértiz and Vicente Camino Beldarrain.

Conferences

The UPV/EHU and the partner universities in the Network together form a higher-level academic community, which meets every two years at an international conference. This a magnificent opportunity for members to meet and exchange information and knowledge, as well as to showcase the research work carried out by PhD students. Over the years, the network has grown and developed and more than 1000 Latin American students from the programmes have enrolled in the UPV/EHU.

The main objectives of the conferences are:

  • To assess and consolidate the areas of research of the different PhD programmes offered in Latin America, comparing the main problems and challenges posed by globalisation from an interdisciplinary perspective.
  • To host meetings between teaching staff from the different universities in the network.
  • To further extend the positive experience of encounters between PhD students to exchange information on interdisciplinary doctoral research.
  • To provide conduits for sharing information and knowledge by giving researchers the greatest possible access to the resources of each university.
We are preparing the next Congress for 2024.

  • Fourth International Conference, ‘Law, Philosophy, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Education and Information Technology in a Global World: Reflections for Transforming Society’, Universidad Rafael Landivar, Guatemala City, Guatemala, 22–25 October, 2013.

  • Third International Conference, ‘Law, Philosophy, Economics, Sociology, Psychology and Education in a Global World’, Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo (22–25 November 2011). At this event, all the universities in the network signed a Declaration of Principles.
