The Faculty in our research group is part of the teaching staff involved in the areas of Genetics, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology. They also actively participate in the training of master's students and PhD students in the program Molecular Biology and Biomedicine.

The research group leads the Unit for Training and Research (UFI) "Cluster for Molecular Biomedicine Education and Research CLUMBER(UFI11/20), which involves 5 other research groups. This Cluster aims to improve the training of the research personnel working in Biomedicine-related areas, studying the molecular, cellular, physiological and genetic basis of biological processes, and their pathological or adaptive alterations.

Group members are committed to the popularization of science, and regularly participate in scientific divulgation activities in the press (Berria and Diario Vasco newspapers, Elhuyarand Argiajournals... ) and the radio (Radio Euskadi). Additionally, divulgation is also carried out using communication networks:  A. Aguirre (https://www.ehu.eus/ehusfera/genetica/) and A. Fullaondo (https://www.ehu.eus/ehusfera/genetikamedikuntza/) have blogs in the ehusfera platform through which they contribute to the popularization of science and of the scientific developments happening in the field of genetics.
