Joint Programming Initiatives (JPI)
Lanzadas por la Comisión Europea en Julio de 2008, constituyen una de las 5 iniciativas que implementan el Espacio Europeo de Investigación (ERA).
Las JPIs tienen como objeto aumentar el valor de la financiación nacional y europea mediante una planificación, implementación y evaluación conjunta de los programas nacionales de investigación.
En la programación conjunta, los Estados Miembros coordinan tanto las actividades de investigación nacionales como los grupos de recursos y se benefician de las complementariedades, permitiendo así el desarrollo de una agenda de investigación conjunta que posibilita abordar grandes retos sociales. Las JPIs tienen como objeto retos que no pueden afrontarse a nivel nacional, y permite a los Estados Miembros participar en aquellas iniciativas les resultan útiles.
