I was born in 1979 in Balmaseda (Bizkaia), I obtained the Chemical Engineering degree in 2003 and my PhD in 2008 both at the University of the Basque Country. I received a scholarship from the UPV / EHU in January 2005, which, I changed to an FPI Grant (Ministry of Education and Science) in August 2005. After completing my PhD, I obtained a contract as a full-time researcher. Currently I am a Ikerbasque Research Fellow in the CPWV research group at the UPV/EHU.

My research lines are as follows: i) Design and hydrodynamics of spouted beds. Modifications aimed at scale up. ii) Biomass pyrolysis and line cracking. iii) Thermal and catalytic pyrolysis of plastics and tires. iv) Production of hydrogen and syngas from biomass and waste, by means of gasification and pyrolysis-reforming of biomass and plastics. I have published more than 125 papers in JCR journals and more than 180 communications to congresses. I have reached an h index of 56 and 7300 citations (Scopus). I have collaborated in more than 25 competitive research projects, two of them as principal investigator. I have supervised 2 PhD theses, in addition I am currently supervising 5 PhD students. I am also guest editor of different JCR indexed journals such as Particuology, Catalysts and Energies.
