Biography and Research

Maria Paulis earned her BS, MS and PhD in Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country in Donostia-San Sebastián. Although she also posseses the BS in Applied Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK). She is associate professor of Chemical Engineering of the University of the Basque Country since 2003. She has received the KUTXA prize (1995) and the Beilby and Huddleston prize (1995) for the best marks in Chemistry both in the Chemistry Faculty of San Sebastián and the Applied Chemistry speciality in Glasgow.

Honors and awards

She received the KUTXA prize (1995) and the Beilby and Huddleston prize (1995) for the best marks in Chemistry both in the Chemistry Faculty of San Sebastián (UPV/EHU) and the Applied Chemistry specialty in Glasgow (University of Strathclyde).

Her research is focussed on the production of waterborne polymer/polymer and polymer/inorganic nanocomposite dispersions. On the other hand, she has also interest in the molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) for biotechnological applications.
