			INTRODUCTION

			We invite you to participate in the Fiveteenth International Conference of the Catalan Association of Artificial Intelligence (CCIA 2012), which will take place on October 24-26, 2012 at the University of Alacant.

			The main goal of this conference is to foster discussion around the last works in Artificial Intelligence which have been developed by the research community of the Catalan Countries, as well as gathering community members. We encourage you to contribute with finished works as well as preliminary works with promising original and innovative ideas.

			SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

			We invite you to submit contributions reflecting both finished works as well as work in progress, containing original and promising ideas.

			Submissions must meet the following guidelines:

			-Conference official languages are: catalan, spanish, french, italian and english, but only english works will be published in conference proceedings.
			-Contributions should be submitted camera-ready.
			-All contributions must be in PDF format.
			-All submissions will have a maximum length of 10 pages.
			-Peer reviewing is not blind, so all contributions should be in complete article form, including authors names and affiliation.
			-Contributions should be without page numbers.
			-All works must have an Abstract.

			Submission will be through EasyChair at http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ccia2012


			PUBLICATION

			Conference proceedings will be published by IOS Press (Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications).

			This year only articles in LaTex format will be accepted due to the problems caused in previous editions by the Word format.

			IOS Press has available for download detailed instructions for LaTex when prepairing manuscripts on author's corner (http://www.iospress.nl/authco/instruction_crc.html).

	The Workshop of Physical Agents intends to be a forum for information and experiences exchange in different areas regarding the concept of agent on physical environments, especially applied to the control and coordination of autonomous systems: robots, mobile robots, industrial processes or complex systems. We understand that physical agent applications are mainly orientated to the control, coordination and planning of autonomous systems: industrial or mobile robots, industrial processes, domotics and complex systems. Contributions can also be related to educational aspects of the above mentioned technologies. As in previous years, topics related to Robocup and FIRA (robotic soccer), AgentLink, and AgentCities will also be welcomed. 	As in former editions of this workshop, the organizing committee will support live or video-based demos and exhibitions. Those interested in taking part in the mobile robots exhibitions must contact the organization as soon as possible in order to organize the logistic aspects. Some suggested exhibitions are: robotic soccer players, searching & collecting robots, exploratory and map building robots, cooperating robots, guide robots, surveillance robots, etc. Additionally, a commented video may be a suitable demo if, due to any reason, live demos should not be possible. 			Call for Papers

			Special Issue on Recognition and Action for Scene Understanding

			Scene Understanding has become a popular topic in Computer Science which
			combines issues such as attention in cognitive systems, object detection and
			recognition, global scene recognition and human sensing. Hence, it involves
			joining efforts and sharing knowledge from different research areas such as
			Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Machine Intelligence, Software
			Engineering and Cognitive Sciences. Besides, it is closely related to
			several emerging application areas (e.g., smart environments, video
			surveillance, visual-based mobile robot navigation, wearable sensors, and
			the detection and understanding of events and activities in video data).

			This Special Issue is meant to bring together researchers which address the
			problem of Scene Understanding from the perspective of the Robotics and
			Computer Vision research communities. The topics of the conference include,
			but are not limited to:


			- perceptual search and attention guidance in scenes,
			- multimodal perception,
			- spatio-temporal reasoning,
			- active spatial exploration,
			- object recognition from local features,
			- structure for object recognition,
			- 3D object recognition,
			- object categorization,
			- conceptualization and scene classification,
			- grammars for objects and scenes,
			- objects in context: scenes and objects,
			- scene recognition without objects,
			- visual localization,
			- human behaviour understanding,
			- mobile robot navigation: mapping and visual SLAM,
			- surveillance,
			- smart environments: computational perception of human activities,
			- wearable sensors for visually impaired people.

			Authors are encouraged to submit their papers electronically by using
			online manuscript submission at: http://www.jopha.net

			All papers will be rigorously refereed and will undergo a competitive
			selection process. Papers already submitted or presented in a Conference may
			be submitted for this Special Issue provided the authors have obtained
			significant new results or developed significant new methods over and above
			what was already submitted or presented at a Conference.
