ENCOUNTER: «THINKING ABOUT TERRITORY. DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES AND LIFESTYLE ALTERNATIVES FOR THE BASQUE COUNTRY AND URDAIBAI»

On 27 and 28 July, the 5th University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) Summer Encounter will take place in Gernika-Lumo, organized by Gernika Gogoratuz and the UPV/EHU.

Under the title ‘Thinking about territory. Development strategies and lifestyle alternatives for the Basque Country and Urdaibai’, the encounter aims to open up a new space in which different stakeholders can share their visions and proposals. The event particularly aims to include segments of the population which are often excluded or traditionally participate less in these debates (young students, women, senior citizens, migrants, the unemployed, etc.), but who are nevertheless engaged in the struggle to ensure better lifestyle alternatives.

Miren Onaindia, coordinator of the UNESCO Chair, will participate alongside Roberto Bermejo on Monday 27 July, in the debate entitled ‘Territories in conflict: alternatives from the Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve’.
