Jaione visited the group of “Dynamics of interfaces in nanotechnology, fluidics and biophysics” of Prof. Aurora Hernandez Machado, at Universitat de Barcelona, during 24-26 of January 2018.

Aurora is Full Professor in condensed matter physics. her main research interests specially lie in condensed matter physics, statistical physics out of equilibrium, physics and biophysics of complex systems, biomembranes, microfluidics and nanostructures.

It was a very pleasant visit, in which Jaione and Aurora worked on the definition of theoretical microfluidic models within the collaborative research project between the Microfluidics Cluster UPV/EHU and the Universitat de Barcelona. The project focuses on the development of portable micro-rheometers for diagnosis of haematological pathologies based on the analysis of the micro-rheological properties of blood.
