Group description

The research interest is focused on process intensification based on structured metallic catalytic systems (monoliths, foams and meshes) and microchannel reactors.

The processes objective of these studies are the energy sector (synthesis of Fischer-Tropsch, reforming for the hydrogen production, Sabatier reaction for Power to Gas, synthesis of biodiesel, synthesis of DME) and the environmental protection (oxidation of VOCs, elimination of nitrates in water ...).

Cross-border Collaboration (if any)

During 2009 and 2010, we participate in the collaboration project entitled "Advanced carbonaceous materials on metal structures as supports for the catalytic elimination of nitrates in water" financed by the CTP (Comunidad de Trabjo de los Pirineos). In this project we collaborate with the group of Dr. Jean Charles Dupin (Département de Chimie - UFR des Sciences et Techniques-IPREM - UMR 5254 CNRS, U. Pau et des Pays de l’Adour, UPPA).

The consortium was formed by: F. Medina (U. Rovira i Virgili) PI, D. Tichit (U. Montpellier), A. Monzón (U. Zaragoza), J. C. Dupin (U. Pau et des Pays de L’Adour), M. Montes (U. País Vasco, UPV/EHU)
