PARTICIPATING PARTNER ORGANISATIONS FOR SECONDMENTS AND SHORT STAYS

The following list shows the Partner Organisations (PO) that have agreed to form part of the ADAGIO project. Each PO offers specific training opportunities in their field of expertise to the ADAGIO fellows. Specific information can be found within each of the partner descriptions. More information is also available on the POs' websites.

ADAGIO fellows will be strongly encouraged to carry out secondments for a minimum period of 3 months and a maximum period of 12 months in one of the partner organisations listed below, or in another partner organisation suggested by the fellow (and approved by the ADAGIO programme) that can be included at any time during the implementation of their project.

The secondment period can be extended if considered beneficial to the fellow’s research.

ES - Ideko (Coop. Soc) Research Centre

IDEKO is a research centre that specialises in industrial production and manufacturing technologies.

We are recognised for the scientific excellence developed in our 4 research groups which are aimed at advancing our specialisation. Our own organisational model encourages interdisciplinary work and we take special care in the qualification and professional development of our staff. We have the most up to date facilities and equipment and we are committed to collaborative work through the establishment of a wide range of contacts with leading centres at an international level.

  • Dynamics and control: addresses the resolution of vibration problems in all types of industrial machinery from two different and complementary approaches, on the one hand the dynamic design of machines and drives and on the other the diagnosis and subsequent implementation of specific development solutions that eliminate chatter and vibrations in various machining processes. Development of technologies for characterisation, modelling and design of solutions for enhanced dynamic performance of machines, chatter in machining dynamics, damping on machine structures, advanced control algorithms for suppression of forced and self-generated vibrations, mechatronics simulation and advanced robotics.
  • Design and precision engineering: focuses on the development of prototypes, mechanisms, structures, modelling and simulation of components, as well as on the analysis of energy consumption of machine tools. The department also performs fine-tuning of compensation models for volumetric calibration, hydrostatic and hydrodynamic lubrication, analysis of the life cycle of machines and ecological efficiency. The technical team of Design and Precision Engineering is responsible for the development of machines, systems and manufacturing processes for precision parts. In particular, it deals with clamping systems, handling and manufacturing processes, design and development of ultra-precision devices and compensation systems for both errors in volume and caused by heat. All these fields of action are oriented to achieve ultra-precision levels.
  • ICT and Automation: The Intelligent Software research line develops automation and advanced software solutions that use artificial intelligence for the improvement of production processes of stand-alone machines and production lines. Development of software tools that provide advanced capabilities to machine manufacturers and manufacturing lines such us Cloud Computing, Artificial Vision, recognition of artificial and natural markers, registration, pattern recognition, advanced programming and real-time processing.
  • Manufacturing Processes: focuses on the knowledge and command of traditional manufacturing processes such as turning, milling, grinding , folding or drilling to solve existing problems of current industrial processes with new cooling technologies or through implementing new tools and manufacturing cycles.

Also, applied in cutting edge processes such as laser cutting, additive manufacturing using laser cladding or the manufacture of composite parts.

The experts in this department address the development of industrial automation and advanced control techniques including fuzzy logic systems, artificial intelligence, discrete event dynamic systems and intelligent control.

The division has experts in different non-destructive inspection (NDT) technologies of surface and internal defects, such as ultrasound, thermography and Eddy currents. NDT allow the detection of imperfections and defects of both volume and surface, with the advantage of guaranteeing the integrity of the components, their quality and reliability at any point of the manufacturing process and throughout their life span.

IDEKO has been dedicated to research and development of technology used in manufacturing and industrial production for three decades. Our activity covers the identification and analysis of opportunities, the design and development of products, business lines and production processes. We are highly specialised in problem solving using our technological services such as technical consultancy or equipment based services. Our customer loyalty, participation in international projects, and renowned prestige of our staff endorse us as leaders in manufacturing and industrial production.
