Doctoral Programme in Food Quality and Safety
The Doctoral Programme "Food Quality and Safety" covers multidisciplinary aspects of research training in the field of food safety including both microbiological and chemistry aspects, and in the field of food quality in all its breadth comprising nutritional, sensory, health and technology aspects. The programme includes quality and safety aspects throughout the entire process of food processing, from raw materials to finished products, taking into account the different technological processes of manufacturing, processing, storage and preparation of food for consumption. The different research groups that support this doctoral programme contribute with their expertise to important and complementary fields for food quality and safety, such as the areas of chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, technology and engineering.
This qualification is recognised at level 4 in the Spanish Framework of Higher Education Qualifications (MECES) and corresponds to level 8 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), according to Royal Decree 22/2015 of 23rd January 2015 (BOE Spanish Official Gazette 07/02/2015).
