Mission

To provide society at large, and the Basque community in particular, with a doctoral educational offer that is internationally recognised, responsive to demand, and contributes to enhancing competitiveness, sustainable development and the social cohesion of its immediate environment:

  • Efficient and transparent management of all the resources entrusted.
  • An extensive range of quality educational options.
  • The comprehensive instruction of people through the promotion of excellence and interdisciplinarity.
  • The dissemination of the educational offer, and the promotion of employability and labour market integration.
  • The fostering of relations with universities and research and training organisations of recognised international prestige.

Vision

  • Gain international recognition for its achievements in the education and support provided for the knowledge generation, as well as for its contributions to competitiveness, sustainable development, and social cohesion within the community.
  • Ensure the satisfaction of all the people involved in the activity of the Doctoral School, as well as the engagement of all socio-economic agents.
  • Be able to attract talent, combining the local with the global, and drive interdisciplinarity and multiculturalism (upholding the University of the Basque Country's motto, in Basque, of eman eta zabal zazu – give and disseminate).
