Iñaki Billelabeitia Bengoa (Mungia – Bizkaia, 1963) combines academic activity as a PhD professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country UPV-EHU with research work and artistic creation.
He is currently director of the Department of Art and Technology of the Faculty of Fine Arts UPV-EHU. He teaches in the Undergraduate Studies in Art at the UPV-EHU and also in the Postgraduate Studies in the Master's Degree in Research and Creation in Contemporary Art as well as in the Master's Degree in Contemporary Technological and Performative Art. He directs several theses and final master's projects and has published various articles. Since 1993 he has been participating in various research groups and is currently a member of the Akmeka research group, a group funded by the Basque Government.
He has participated in international committees and representations and has directed and organized conferences, conferences and symposiums in relation to Art and the audiovisual. He carries out audiovisual direction and production tasks for film festivals and musical events. For several years he has participated with institutions or contests such as Zinebi - International Documentary and Short Film Festival or Sala Rekalde developing the direction of performative events and audiovisual pieces. He has also made audiovisual and stage works for musicians, as well as music videos. He has worked as a freelance director for television channels
