Ángel Chaparro Sainz is presently teaching at the UPV/EHU in both the Translation Studies Program and the English Studies Program. He is also teaching in the postgraduate program Master in Comparative Literature and Literary Studies. He is a member of the REWEST Research Group as well. His research deals mostly with Western American literatura, ecocriticism and gender studies, even though he is also interested in a variety of topics dealing with poetry, popular music, minority literatures and translation. His PhD dissertation on Mormon Literature was published by the prestigious series Biblioteca Javier Coy from the University of Valencia. The book was titled Parting the Mormon Veil: Phyllis Barber’s Writing and it was released in 2013. He has contributed to journals such as Women’s Studies, Lectora, Odisea or Miscelánea and to collections in the United States and Europe. He has recently co-edited the volumen Transcontinental Reflections on the American West: Words, Images, Sounds beyond Borders.
