Pilar González Casimiro is PhD in Economics by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and Master of Science in Statistics from the London School of Economics.

She is Assistant Professor of Econometrics at the Department of Quantitative Methods of the UPV/EHU where she lectures on Econometrics and Time Series Analysis both at graduate and postgraduate levels. She has published several books on these topics and on the use of Gretl for applied econometrics. She has directed several teaching innovation projects, being currently coordinator of the Teaching Team Active Econometrics Group, accredited by the UPV/EHU.

Her research is focused on Macroeconometrics and her main research topics are time series analysis (economic trends, indicators systems), spatial econometrics and natural resources economics and tourism economics. She has being involved in research projects financed by the European Union (PECHDEV, ELME, MARNET and currently MOSES), among others institutions. Other topic of interest is the economic impacts assessment, having collaborated in a number of R&D projects related to this topic: the assessment of the socioeconomic impact of large infrastructures such as the airport of Vitoria-Gasteiz or the new high-speed Basque Railway Network, environmental public investment and economic sectors such as the maritime sector in the Basque Country. The research results obtained have been published in international scientific journals and in specialized books.
