Licentiate (1985) and Phd (1993) in Economics from the UPV/EHU, where he has been an associuate professor since 1995. He has taught modules such as Econometrics, Time Series Analysis, Statistics and Data Analysis, Macroeconometricss. He has been Director of the Department of Applied Economics III (Econometrics and Statistics) (2005-2015).



From 2017 to 2021, he was Vice-Dean Coordinator of the Headquarters and Vice-Dean of Academic and Postgraduate Planning of the Faculty of Economics and Business.



He has published research articles in the field of Economics as well as Statistics and Probability. The most recent in Journal of International Migration and Integration (2021), Empirical Economics (2016), Computational Economics (2015), Computational Statistics and Data Analysis (2014), Statistics and Probability Letters (2014), SORT (2010). He has actively participated in the development team of the econometric software program Gretl. He is the author of several Gretl function packages. He has 4 research sexenios recognized by the CNEAI. His research focuses on the analysis of time series, especially in the modeling of macroeconomic and financial time series. In particular, multivariate models of time series, decomposition of time series, seasonal adjustment, intervention analysis and outlier analysis.
