Bachellor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering (2010), master in Advanced Electronic Systems (2011) and international PhD with honors (2014) by the University of the Basque Country ( UPV/EHU).

Currently he is an associate professor in the department of Applied Mathematics of the Faculty of Engineering in Bilbao and lectures in the Degree in Computer Engineering in Management and Information Systems. He is actively involved in the development and implementation of educational innovation projects, open courses and supervises bachelor’s dissertations in different degrees.

He is a member of the Bioengineering and Resuscitation (BioRes) research group ranked A (top category) by the Basque Government. He has authored 27 scientific articles in indexed journals (20 Q1), more than 60 contributions to international and national conferences, 1 book chapter and 1 patent. He has participated in 23 research projects funded by public institutions (PI in 2) and in 3 R&D contracts with private companies. He completed two research stays, the first one, in 2013 in the University of Stavanger, Stavanger, Norway, and the second one, in 2014 in the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), Portland, United States. His research interests are related to biomedical signal processing and machine learning applied to cardiac arrest episodes in order to improve patient survival.
