Dr. Nerea Toledo Gandarias, is a Telecommunications Engineer (2007) and International PhD.(2012). Her doctoral thesis received the Extraordinary Doctorate Award. Since 2008 she works as a professor and researcher at the UPV/EHU, initially in the Dept. of Electronics and Telecommunications and later in the Dept. of Graphic Expression and Engineering Projects. From 2016 Nerea she is the Academic Secretary of said department. In 2019 she obtained FULL PROFESSOR accreditation and has two six-year research periods.
Nerea develops her research activity in the research group I2T (http://i2t.ehu.es/).
She has supervised 3 PhDs and numerous Master and Degree Final Projects. She is currently directing 6 PhDs. She has participated in European, national and regional research projects, being also the principal researcher of several ones. She currently has 32 publications indexed in ISI WOS, 46 in SCOPUS and h=9 (18/01/2024).
Nerea's main lines of research are communications in transport systems, and specifically in the railway environment, cybersecurity and the new paradigms of softwarization of networks and networking. In the same way, Nerea is also interested in hot topics such as Artificial Inteligence and Machine Learning in Project Management.
