This is an interuniversity doctoral programme involving the University of the Basque Country, the University of Vigo and the University of Burgos.

The doctoral programme develops the following lines of research:

  1. Energy efficiency, mechanical and thermal system modelling and renewable energies. This tackle issues such as the potential of renewable energies, biomass combustion modelling, biomass boiler design, simulation of combustion processes using CFD, etc.
  2. Research into the thermodynamic properties of fluids of industrial interest, using high precision techniques. This line of research looks into new fluids that are of greater industrial interest, such as liquid, ionic electrolytes and nanofluids.
  3. Everything related to building, different aspects regarding energy efficiency and the environment in building. The research activities that take place in this line are: experimentation and modelling of heat transfer in building components, energy rehabilitation of buildings, methodological development of LCA applied to construction, etc.
