JESUS MARIA BLANCO ILZARBE

Industrial engineer (1992) and PhD (1996) is Associate Professor at the University of the Basque Country, School of Engineering, Fluid Mechanics Department from 1993 and lecturer at the Open University since 1997. MSc by Research, (2009), School of Engineering, Cranfield University, UK, and visiting lecturer in this University with several research stays since 2008. Supervising 7 PhD theses in this field, he has published over 50 papers in international journals and 60 proceedings in national and international congresses, leading numerous Research Projects. Current research interests are focused on CFD models, Wave and wind energy and educational projects.

Organizer of congress CMN'2013 and member of the editorial board of international congresses, ECCOMASS'2014, CMN'2015 y 2017 and habitual referee of several international journals such as Applied Thermal Engineering, Fuel, Energy, etc since 2004 and member of the scientific committee of the Spanish Society for Numerical Methods in Engineering since 2008. Awarded by the Open University in Spain for research projects in the field of minimization of the environmental impact associated to particular industrial processes in 2005.

Coordinator of the ERASMUS MUNDUS Joint Master Degree in Offshore Renewable energies, member of the Basque Government Research Group (IT781-13) 2013-2018 and Leader of the Basque Government Research Groups (IT1314-19) 2019-2021 and (IT1415-22) 2022-2025.
