Research
Main research line is focused on the study of molecular, metabolic and physiological bases of nitrogen, with a special focus on ammonium nutrition, in plants. The final challenge of our research is helping to agronomic decision-making in relation to the rational use of fertilizers, thereby contributing to quality agricultural production, and reducing the environmental impact. Other research lines of my expertise are the response of plants to abiotic stresses, mainly to drought and salinity, and plant adaptation to CO2.
