I obtained the degree in Geology in 1988 and the Ph D degree in 1993 at the University of the Basque Country. For more than 30 years I have been doing research on pegmatitic rocks enriched in Li and other “rare elements” from the Central Iberian Zone, New England, the Pampean Ranges and Namibia. This research is focused on their mineralogy, petrography and petrogenesis and implications for the regional geology. I have cooperated with numerous researchers from other countries, with several stays abroad: the first one in Toulouse (France), in 1994 with a postdoctoral grant, and in 2012 in New Orleans (USA), for 5 months as Invited Research Scholar, among others. Since 2009 I belong to the MP2 research group (Mineralogy, Petrology & Pegmatites), (University of New Orleans). As a summary, among other merits, I count on more than 70 publications; more than 115 communications to congresses; I have taken part in 19 research projects (in 8 of them as main researcher); I have taken part in the organization of 8 congresses; I have organized four International Special Actions; offered 14 invited talks; I am a teacher in the master GEOREC at the UGR; in the International Master in Mining that the UPV/EHU offers in Chile, and from 2009 I am a faculty member of the yearly “Maine Pegmatite Workshop” (USA), (Maine Mineral & Gem Museum); I have been Associate and Invited Editor of international magazines; international reviewer of research projects; and I have describe
