She got her Degree on Food Science and Technology in 2002 and PhD in 2008 at the University of the Basque Country. In 2012, she completed her formation thanks to a postdoctoral fellowship for young researchers, José Castillejo. She is lecturer at the UPV/EHU since 2010 and got a permanent position in 2017.

Her teaching areas are food law, quality and safety in the Degree in Food Science and Technology and the Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She coordinates a master course about food texture and its applications for quality control. She regularly directs both, Final Year Dissertations and Master Theses. She was formed and is experienced in implementation of active methodologies and is involved in projects for innovation in education (2009-). She participates in the IKD structured group Zehargaituz developing a research line on the coordinated assessment of cross-curricular skills.

Her main research topics have been: food physic-chemical and sensorial characteristics, in particular texture properties. It is worth mention the late works done on products adapted for dysphagia and on gluten-free food. From 2018 she is a member of the consolidated research group GLUTENS.
