Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU) in 1981, PhD in Medicine from the same University since 1990 and associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing of Donostia since 2012. Head of the Infectious Diseases Service in Hospital Donostia since 1999 and leader of the AIDS and HIV Infections Group of the Infectious Diseases Area in IIS Biodonostia. With special dedication to applied clinical research, Dr. Iribarren is author or co-author of more than 290 articles in PubMed and more than 30 book chapters (ORCID: 0000-0003-4013-8509), director of two Doctoral Theses and currently directing another three, with special interest in clinical and treatment of HIV infection, emerging infections and infections of prosthetic devices.
