I have a Doctoral Degree in Linguistics from the University of the Basque Country (Special Award and European Doctor) and I work as a trilingual Associate Professor at the section of Slavic Philology. I got 3 research periods acknowledged by the Spanish Ministry (2001-2018). My research work deals with linguistic change from a formal perspective, with special focus on Russian morphosyntax, connecting with other early Indo-European languages. I have published numerous papers on the syntax of Russian from a formal synchronic point of view, syntactic change and reanalysis in general and in more specific areas, such as non-verbal predication, grammatical case, verbal voice, non-finite clauses and subordination, quantifier phrases, and null subjects. I am a member of different research projects and groups, and took place in numerous international conferences (also as an invited speaker), and was invited to foreign research centers to give a talk. I have carried out longer and shorter research stays at the State University of Moscow (Russia) and the Odessa National Polytechnic University (Ukraine).

Since 2003, I teach Russian language at the Bachelor's level, and historical linguistics and linguistic typology at the Master's level.

From 2007, I performed different activities of university management: Vice Dean for Academic Matters, Vice Dean for the Basque Language and External Relations, president and member of committees, coordinator of the Section of Slavic Philology.
