M. Juncal Gutierrez Mangado graduated in English Philology at the University of Deusto in Spain in 1997 and received her PhD in n English Philology at the University of the Basque Country in 2005 for which she was awarded the extraordinary doctoral award. She is currently associate professor in the English Department at the University of the Basque Country where her teaching involves undergraduate courses in English Language and Linguistics, as well as postgraduate courses in the Masters in Language Acquisition in Multilingual Settings (LAMS) and Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics, with access to doctoral studies (PhD), in which she supervises master's and PhD theses. She is a member of the research group Language and Speech (www.laslab.org), noted by the Basque Goverment (IT311-10, 2010-2015; IT904-16, 2016-2021) for excellence in research in the field. She has also published in several national and international journals as well as prestigious editorials on the acquisition of wh-movement structures (in Basque, Spanish and English); cross-linguistic influence in L3 acquisition, writing and oral tasks as well as active teaching/learning methodologies. Since 2019 she is Director of Mobility.
