Alberto de Diego, obtained his PhD degree in Chemistry in 1996 and then spent two years in a post-doctoral position in the research group of Olivier Donard in Pau. Nowadays, he is assistant professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry of the UPV/EHU and member of the IBeA research group, recognized as consolidated research group type A by the Basque Government. He is affiliated to the Faculty of Science and Technology (ZTF, UPV/EHU) and to the Marine Station of Plentzia (PIE, UPV/EHU). He has supervised nine PhD Thesis and currently supervises another PhD student. Alberto de Diego has published 8 book chapters and more than 90 research articles in international journals and has participated in the elaboration of two academic books. He presents a H-index of 26 with 1969 citations since 1997. His main research areas of interest include i) development and optimization of analytical methods, ii) monitoring of environmental pollution in aquatic and atmospheric environments, iii) chemical analysis of food and beverages for quality control, traceability of geographical origin and fraud detection, iv) application of chemometrics to the analysis of environmental data.
