Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) (1996) and PhD in Analytical Chemistry (2000) from the UPV/EHU. Assistant Professor at that university since 2000. Vice Dean of Science and Technology Faculty (2011-2019) and Head of the Department of Chemistry since 2019.
Member of the IBeA research group, recognized as group A of the Basque university system. director or co-director of 11 doctoral theses; Among these theses, 8 have been cited internationally and 1 co-directed with the University of Pau et Pays de l'Adour. He has completed pre- and postdoctoral stays at the University of Northumbria (United Kingdom) and the University of Pau et Pays de l'Adour, respectively. She worked on more than 70 research projects, of which 15 were principal investigator and three others were co-principal investigator. Co-author of numerous publications: 137 scientific articles (http://orcid.org/0000-0002-3614-6293) and 10 book chapters, more than 150 contributions at national and international conferences. 4 semesters recognized by CENAI and H index of 39 (Scopus, November 30, 2023). He has worked mainly in the following lines of research: the development of methods for the analysis of organic contaminants in the environment, the use of sewage sludge as fertilizer and the accumulation of contaminants in vegetables, the accumulation and metabolism of organic contaminants in fish , Environmental metabolism, targeted and non-targeted analysis of organic contaminants in environmental samples and biofluids
