Mihalis Mourgoglou is an Ikerbasque Research Fellow at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). He finished his PhD in 2011 at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the United States under the supervision of Professor S. Hofmann. After his PhD, he received a competitive grant by Fondation Mathematiques Jacques Hadamardhe to spend two years (2011-13) at the University of Paris-Sud 11 with Pr. P. Auscher. He was also awarded a competitive postdoctoral fellowship by the European Post-Doctoral Institute for Mathematical Sciences (EPDI) that allowed him spend the academic years 2013-14 at Institut des Hautes Etudes Scientifiques (IHES) and 2014-15 at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) and the Centre de Recerca Matematica (CRM). He stayed for another year at UAB as a postdoc under the ERC grant of Pr. X. Tolsa. and then moved to BCAM, where he worked until December 2016. Since then he has been working at the department of mathematics at UPV/EHU.

He has 30 publications in international peer reviewed journal of high level (e.g. Duke Math. J., Comm. in Pure and Applied Math., GAFA, Crelle, Am. J. Math., Adv. Math., Analysis & PDE, IMRN, Proc. LMS). His research interests lie at the intersection of Partial Differential Equations, Harmonic Analysis and Geometric Measure Theory. He has also given several talks at international conferences and seminars around the world. He is the PI of a MTM grant and is currently supervising the PhD thesis of A. Zacharopoulos.
