He is Professor of the Knowledge Area "Continuum Media Mechanics and Theory of Structures".
He obtained a master degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Navarra. He carried out his doctoral thesis at UPV/EHU, obtaining the extraordinary prize of doctorate.
He has taught Rigid Body Mechanics and Mechanics of Materials in undergraduate programs and Mechanics of Composite Materials in Master programs. He has supervised 9 doctoral theses.
His research activity is focused on the Mechanical Behavior of Composite Materials. He is the author or co-author of more than 50 scientific articles included in the Web of Science, 27 of them being directly related to the supervised doctoral theses.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Composite Materials (Asociación Española de Materiales Compuestos, AEMAC) and a member of the Governing Board of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Gipuzkoa.
