Industrial Engineer (1993), MSc in Construction Engineering (2011) and PhD on concrete structures conservation and rehabilitation (2014) by the UPV / EHU. Senior lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao from 1998 to 2009 as part-time, and since then full-time. Deputy director of the University College of Technical and Industrial Engineering of Bilbao between 2009 and 2013.
Since 1994 he worked in the area of Structures Pathology and Rehabilitation, within the construction division of Labein (nowadays part of Tecnalia) becoming project manager, responsible for the Structures and Geotechnics Area between 2002 and 2004, and later in charge of Structures and Historical Heritage until 2009.
The research is focuses on innovation in construction materials oriented to sustainable construction, on new concrete and masonry structures strengthening systems and on characterization, assessment and minimization of construction hazards and climate change in urban environments and buildings.
He is the author of 13 scientific impact papers. He has participated in 20 research projects, at regional, national and European levels. 29 papers in 17 congresses increased the diffusion of the investigation.
