FRANCK ANDRES GIROT MATA

Engineer from the prestigious French Faculty Arts et Métiers ParisTech AMPT (1982) and Doctor in Materials Science and Manufacturing Processes from the University of Bordeaux (1987, France), Authorization to Supervise Research from the University of Bordeaux (1996, France).

Professor of Materials and Manufacturing Engineering at AMPT Bordeaux (1994-2008), where he has directed the LAMGEP research laboratory (1996-2000) and later Head of the Manufacturing Engineering team (2000-2008) and Deputy Director of LAMEFIP-EA2727 (2000-2004).

Since 2008, he is an IKERBASQUE senior researcher at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering where he develops his activity in topics of sustainable manufacturing of aeronautical materials (drilling, FSW, laser welding or electromagnetic pulse ...), metallic additive manufacturing, numerical simulation of the processes of manufacturing (including gradient strain theory ...), relationship microstructure / process parameters / in service behavior, etc. In collaboration with the University of Bordeaux, AMPT and the CNRS, has created the Joint Transfrontier Laboratory ÆNIGME (Aquitaine Euskadi Network in Green Manufacturing and Ecodesign) that associates about 30 researchers from the two campuses on issues of Sustainable Manufacturing, Ecodesign and in service Behavior of Ecoproducts.

He has published about 150 articles, 75% in the first quartile, more than 100 lectures, some 40 doctoral theses supervised; an h index of 20 and about 1000 citations.
