Javier, PhD in Telecommunications and PhD in Information Technology (Extraordinary Award), is currently a Research Professor in Artificial Intelligence at TECNALIA, adjunct professor at the Department of Communications Engineering of the University of the Basque Country (UPV / EHU), and invited research fellow at the Basque Center for Applied Mathematics (BCAM). He has an experience of more than 50 research projects (in several of them as director) related to predictive modeling, constrained optimization problems, unsupervised learning and the design of massive computing platforms and Big Data. He has been a guest speaker in several master's programs and specialized courses for companies. He is the inventor of 8 patents, author of more than 270 publications (including 95 journal articles with JCR impact factor) and editor of 6 books related to Artificial Intelligence applied to diverse fields such as wireless communications, Smart Grids or industrial prognosis, among many others. He has supervised 8 PhD Thesis to date, and is an associate editor of renowned journals in his field of specialization such as Information Fusion and Swarm and Evolutionary Computation (Q1 JCR). He has performed research stays in Finland, the US and Ecuador.
