After finishing her Degree in Pharmacy in the University of the Baque Country in 2001, she worked in a pharmacy for around a year. Then, she joined Nutrition and Obesity workteam at the University of the Basque Country. There, she worked under the supervision of María del Puy Portillo and María Teresa Macarulla. She defended her Doctoral Thesis about the effect of conjocated linoleic acid in 2008. During this predoctoral phase, she also worked for four months in Marseille (France).
Then, she started working in CICbioGUNE research centre in Derio, for one year. She collaborated in the project Cancer and hypoxia activated signalling cascade. After this period she joined Azti-Tecnalia, where she worked in more applicated projects with companies, related with food and nutrition. In fact, she managed several projects and applied for funding for some of them,
In 2015 she joined the University of the Basque Country again, as lecturer, in the Nutrition and Bromatology area, in the Faculty of Pharmacy. Currently, she works in GLUTENS research team. She collaborated in several projects, both in her research field and at educational level.
Aforementioned activities allowed her to publish scientific papers in national and international journals, and she has given numerous communications in national and international congresses in her field. ORCID: 0000-0003-0108-7171
