Graduate in Biology (1984). Doctor in Basque Philology (1993). Professor in Scientific Basque Language and Communication at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) since 1986, and Permanent Professor since 1997. She also teaches a course on Terminology and Specialized Texts in the HAP/LAP master about NLP. Initially her research fields were syntax and morphology, but in the last decades her research focus is on terminology and in the lexical and discursive development of the Basque language.
