Bachelor and doctor in classical philology (1986, 1992), is full professor of Latin philology at the University of the Basque Country.
His lines of research have focused mainly on the following fields: Petrarch’s Latin work; the history of Terence’s text and its medieval commentaries; the history of Latin metrics; the presence of the Latin tradition in the Hispanic and Basque literatures. A selection of their publications can be seen in the attached CV or in Academia.
He has directed and participated in numerous research projects, has made stays in various foreign academic institutions and is a member of the editorial board of several journals of the specialty. Currently he has 4 six-year research terms of the CNEAI.
