Doctoral Programme in Quantitative Finance and Economics

This interuniversity Doctoral programme (UPV/EHU, Complutense University of Madrid, University of Castilla La Mancha and University of Valencia) is designed for students to prepare and defend a doctoral thesis that meets the following requirements:

  • It must offer an original solution to research problems in Finance or Economics with the quantitative and computational methods used in their resolution.
  • A high level of knowledge must be reached in an area of Economics and Finance.
  • The student must prove that they are capable of solving research tasks autonomously and independently.

Those who obtain the PhD qualification must be able to perform a relevant role in scientific research with developments in the professional world or the academic world.

Apart from the universities participating in the programme, we appreciate the support we receive from the following institutions and corporations in funding courses, seminars and workshops: Banco Santander Chair for International Finance at the University of Valencia, Basque Government and, Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness.
