Applicant requirements

Applicants must be enrolled on a University Master’s degree.

How should I submit the documents? On line

Do I need to submit a legal statement attesting to the fact that I do not possess another University Master's degree?

Yes. All applicants must submit a legal statement of this kind (Document 4).

If I have a Basque language qualification, does this count?

No, because it is one of the official languages of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.

Do I have to present my Personal Academic Certificate if I earned my degree at the University of the Basque Country after 1988?

No. Only students who earned the degree which provides access to the Master's at another Spanish university must present this certificate.

Under what circumstances must I present the Certificate of Equivalence for Average Grades, issued by the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training?

This certificate is only required if the applicant has studied abroad.

How much will I receive if I am awarded the grant?

Grants consist of €3,000/year for students resident in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country and €4,500/year for those residing in other Autonomous Communities of Spain or abroad.

Am I eligible for an exemption from paying tuition fees?

No. This grant does not exempt you from paying the corresponding public fees.

Assessment criteria

What factors are taken into account during the decision to accept or reject a grant application?

The following criteria are taken into consideration:

  1. Academic record (up to 90 points).
  2. Merits stated by the student: other studies, foreign language skills, projects/work carried out by applicants, etc. (up to 10 points).


Can I apply for this grant if I have already earned a Master's Degree?

No. Applicants who have studied a previous Master's Degree are not eligible for this grant.

Can I apply for this grant if I have a job?

No. The grant is incompatible with: 'The receipt of any other salary-type sum equivalent to more than the established official minimum wage.'

What happens if I apply for other grants and am awarded some or all of them?

You should read the list of incompatibilities established in the calls for each of the grant applied for, and then choose the best option.

Processing the call for applications

When will the final decision be made?

The first list will be published on 5 November and the definitive decision will be published in December.

How will I be informed of the decision?

The decision will be published on the website.
