1. Introduction to Environment Geology: Fundamental concepts, Land planning, and sustainable development. Law concerning environment.

2. Geological Risk: Definition and classification. Risk related to earth processes. Climatic change and the human made disturbance. Risk assessment and mitigation.

3. Environmental Impact: Definition, concepts, types, identification and assessment. The Environmental Impact Assessment.

4. Geology and Heritage: History of geological heritage, geodiversity, geoparks.

5. Natural Resources and Environment: Soil use, management, desertification and restoration. Restoration of degraded environments.

6. Waste Management: classification and systems to their management.



Field trip: Waste and soil pollution management. Geological heritage management. Geodiversity. Active processes cartography.

MethodologyToggle Navigation

In order to reach these capabilities, the subject is divided in theory lessons, classroom exercise, QGIS computer program, team and individual work, and field work.

Evaluation method:

- Final exam: 40%

- Students works: 50 %

- Field trip reports: 10 %
