Abbreviated CV
Degree in Science, Chemistry Section (UPV/EHU, 1999) and Chemical Engineering (UPV/EHU, 2001). PhD in Chemical Engineering (UPV/EHU, 2006), awarded with the “SECAT Thesis Prize 2006” and “Extraordinary Doctorate Prize” in 2008. I currently hold the position of Research Doctoral Staff at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU since 2013.
The research work has been developed within the research group “Chemical Technologies for Environmental Sustainability, TQSA”, and is oriented to environmental protection. In this sense, the research has focused on the one hand on the use of catalytic technologies applied to the control of pollutant emissions, focusing mainly on the treatment of hydrocarbons that are difficult to eliminate (chlorinated hydrocarbons) by catalytic combustion, on the other hand on the recycling and/or valorization of plastics by chemical processes and also on obtaining clean energies, specifically based on the production of hydrogen-rich currents by catalytic reforming technologies as fuel for fuel cells. In the different fields the research is oriented to the search and evaluation of efficient catalytic formulations. In this sense, I have participated as a Collaborating Researcher in numerous Research Projects. The research work developed is reflected in more than 70 papers (h=32) in journals of high international prestige and in the co-authorship of four Doctoral Theses, three of them of international character. I have also participated in numerous national and international conferences in the area of Chemical Engineering and Applied Catalysis, with more than 150 contributions and I have been a member of the Organizing Committee of the Meeting of the Spanish Society of Catalysis (2007) and the XXIX Iberoamerican Congress of Catalysis (2024).
In the teaching field, the activity began in 2007. During this period, I have taught various subjects in the degrees of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. The subjects taught in the old degrees and in the current Degree and Master in Chemical Engineering are mainly related to Chemical Engineering and Environment. I have also supervised numerous Final Degree Projects (old plans), and currently Final Degree and Master Projects.
Since 2011, I belong to the Standing Committee of the Department of Chemical Engineering.
