Abbreviated CV

Prof at the UPV/EHU since 1981, I have taught subjects in the area of Chemical Engineering in the degrees of Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology. In the Master's degree I have taught courses on 'Statistical Methods and Design of Experiments', 'Advanced Optimization of Chemical Processes' and 'Quality Management Systems'. Co-director of 6 PhD theses and more than 10 final year projects. The central theme of my research career is Chemical Kinetics and Heterogeneous Catalysis applied to the treatment of effluents (catalysts for vehicles and fixed sources) and other processes to achieve better performance in the reaction (activity, selectivity and resistance to aging) and optimal operating conditions (actually CO2 methanation).

Our team (research group: Chemical Technologies for Environmental Sustainability (TQSA)) has participated in more than thirty research projects funded by local, regional, national and European administrations. I have participated in about 20 research contracts with companies. Co-author of more than ninety articles in scientific journals (most of then JCR indexed), and co-inventor of six patents. Five six-year research period (CNEAI). I have been Deputy Director of the Miguel de Unamuno High School; Secretary of the Department; Degree Coordinator (Chemical Engineering); Vice Dean Teaching Planning (ZTF). I am currently a representative on the Faculty Board and member of the Doctorate Academic Committee.
