The exotic properties of the grammar of natural languages: Displacement, dependency relations, elipsis, expletives.Displacement, movement, motivations for movement, types of movement, conditions on movement, overt vs. covert movement, the copy theory of movement, sideward movement.
Elipsis and empty categories. the typology of empty categories. pro-drop. morphosyntactic licensing conditions on pro-drop. null operators. parasitic gaps.
