Jaione Etxebarria is M.Sc. in chemical engineering (2008) and PhD in polymeric microfluidic MEMS and engineering of advanced materials (2015) from the University of the Basque Country. In 2008 she joined the Microsystems research group at IK4-Ikerlan (Spain) where she worked on her research in microsystems for Lab-on-a-chip and Point-of-care applications, continuing her research in microLIQUID until 2015. In 2016 she joined the University of the Basque Country as a postdoc researcher on surface modifications of biopolymeric materials for pharma and food industries. Currently she is working as a postdoc researcher in the BIOMICS microfluidics group UPV/EHU. Her main research interests are focused on material science and on the design, microfabrication and development of low cost polymeric microfluidic and MEMS devices and their integration in biomedical devices and disposable diagnosis systems.
Integration of electronic components on Lab-on-a-chip devices, design and fabrication of microfluidic devices, integration of functional materials and characterization of device performance.
